Jested Mountain

Jested mountain is the symbol of city Liberec, Czech Republic. The mountain is visible  from everywhere in the city and its a great feeling if your window has a Jested view.

The mountain has a TV tower, restaurant, hotel, ski resort and beautiful panoramic views. The mountain top is accessible through road, cable car or a steep hike of 1 hour.

Cable Car

 How to reach
You can book tours very economical with some shuttle service in the summer season or just take TRAM #3 in the direction of Horny-Hanychov (last stop of tram) walk for 300 meters and the cable car to the top of the hill, see the timings before going up. It could be crowded in summer. The cable car takes hardly 5 minutes to reach to the top. It cost nearly 100Ck for one way and 149 for return ticket, as some people prefer to walk down the hill.
When to go
Other than skiing, its no sense to visit in the winter, the best time visit is daytime in summer without clouds. The top of hill is nearly 950meters above ground and clouds can just close your panoramic views.

Wear heavy clothes in winter and takes a light jacket with you in summer as it can  windy in summer.
What to do
Enjoy the scenery, you can easily see the border of Poland. The TV tower building has a great restaurant and fish and fries could be a great lunch menu. Above the restaurant is a hotel with few rooms including the president suite.

Liberec is small town (5th latgest of Czech)of Prague situated north of the country near the border of Germany and Poland. Mainly people comes here for Technical university of Liberec or Skiing on the Jested mountain.

How to come
Prague has only one international airport (Vaclav Havel Airport) with an effective local transport system and in 1 hour you can reach to extreme ends of the city.

After arrival you may change the money to Euros (like 50Eur ; the rates will be lower there) then on the right side of terminal 1 (out of schengen flights go here) and terminal 2 (schengen flights goes here) you can find information desk and public transport ticket counter. (they speak excellent English)

Tickets
you need to take 90min ticket to reach to the first stop of METRO B stop ZLICIN  to go to last stop  CERNY MOST where you can get the BUS for LIBEREC. to reach the metro line you can take bus 100.

the cost of ticket is 32czk and if the man sees your luggage the extra 16czk ticket for the big luggage also, depends on you but i often see ticket checkers don't say anything for the luggage ticket :)
Now you have the ticket go out of the airport you will find the buses just in front (hardly 100meter), so jump in the bus 100 and VALIDATE your ticket,

you need to punch it in the yellow machine inside buses which will print your start time, Mostly people don't do because they have monthly cards, Do it because the penalty is 800czk and the Tickets checkers comes quite often in normal dresses. The last stop of bus 100 is ZLICIN and all passengers will jump out . walk 100 meter more in the direction of metro (most people will be going there just follow) ,few steps down and you will reach to the metro line B. Take the Metro on the RIGHT hand side and sit and relax for next 50 min till it reaches to last stop CERNY MOST.
BUS TO LIBEREC
At Cerny Most come out of station and go downstairs (the inter city buses are downstairs) In front you will find student agency office (buy online ticket from www.student agency.cz) buy the ticket for Liberec, it runs every hour mostly and last buses are at 21:00 and 23:00 if you are late then stay at Prague , you cant go liberec that night :)
The bus stop number 6 is just near to the selling office and YELLOW color buses are very easy to see.Now sit in the bus for next 1 hour and 5 min journey ,enjoy free coffee and tea in the bus or buy water and other drinks for cash,

The bus stop first in Liberec at the stop FUGNEROVA (that's the local bus stop) then it goes to NADRAZI which is main bus station and Railway station)

Jump out at Fugnerova and now walk little 100 meter more toward the shopping mall MYLIBEREC inside you can take ticket for the buses (20czk for adult for 40 min travel) take the bus you want ,
